Calculate the approximate capacitor bank size required to improve an electrical system from its existing power factor to a target power factor.
For a load with real power P, existing PF cos φ₁, and target PF cos φ₂:
Qc = P × (tanφ₁ − tanφ₂)
where Qc is the required capacitor size in kVAr.
